Savage Social Media - Week in Review May 25, 2015

Just like TV these days there is a lot of good, useful content online. I have been bombarded lately with great social media marketing tips from taking courses over at Alison.com, checking out social media marketing blogs and websites and from reading articles from my various LinkedIn groups.

Today I am sharing a round-up of some of my favorite pieces. Many of these tips don't require in-depth strategy sessions - so if you are a small business owner, or just wanting to get your own personal brand poppin' you can immediately test these ideas and tools out.

  1. Motioned based pins on Pinterest - filmmakers can share their trailers, artist at shows or openings can create welcome videos for their guest, designers can create commercials. Motion pins are a unique way to stand out from the crowd and tickle the senses of your followers. Side-note: Create your own motion based videos with my new favorite app -Phhhoto. Its an easy to use gif generator. I double this up with flipagram to create promo videos to entice people to check out the blog.
  2. Engagement is not just about getting "likes." Its about depth. Are people sharing and commenting on what you are posting? Are you having a conversation with your audience? Are you listening and learning from them? After-all It's called social media for a reason. To that end, Instagram recently shared that warmer toned photos received more comments and you can search hash-tags by emojis
  3. It seems like everyone I know is creating a Facebook page promoting their talent or business. Here is the Facebook page for savagegazelle. Like you I too am looking for new ways to boost online traffic here, there and everywhere. Here is a good piece with 6 tips to help you do just that, click here.
