Quick, Juicy Bun-less Turkey Burgers

Juicy Turkey burgers with Sautéed Asparagus & Mushrooms

One thing is for sure, two things for certain I love burgers! To begin, nothing beats a juicy, chargrilled burger topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup and mustard. Just thinking about it makes me excited.

However, I have no idea how to operate a grill, and when the craving for a delicious burger hits, I have to make it happen! Plus, it's nice to have a homemade turkey burger on the plate in 30 min or less!

I was craving a burger recently, but I wanted something healthier. So I decided to make some homemade turkey burgers without a bun. I started them on the stove and finished them in the oven. They were fantastic.

Here's a simple recipe for you or your crew to try at home.

Prep Time: 6 min

Cook Time: 20 min

Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 package of lean, ground turkey

1/2 tsp of paprika

1/2 tsp of salt

1 tsp of pepper

1 tbsp garlic powder

Procedure

  • Pre-heat oven to 400

  • Heat a large, heavy, ovenproof skillet over medium heat until very hot, 4 to 5 minutes. Add 1 tbsp of oil to the pan and swirl to coat the bottom.

  • Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl

  • Form (4) patties

  • Add the burgers and cook over medium heat without moving the burgers until the bottom side of each is dark golden brown and crusted 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Transfer the pan to the oven and continue cooking for 7 to 8 minutes, or until burgers are completely cooked (an instant-read thermometer inserted from the side of the burger into the center should register 160°F)

  • Remove from the oven, soak up excess oil, add toppings & enjoy!

I will admit that I consumed three of the burgers. I was unable to stop myself. lol
